Ten Heavenly Stems · 十天干
The Ten Day Masters
Your Day Master is the Heavenly Stem on the day pillar of your BaZi chart, the one character out of eight that stands for you. There are ten Heavenly Stems, so there are ten Day Masters: each of the five elements in a Yang (outward, active) and a Yin (inward, receptive) form.
Each has its own archetype, its own strengths and watch-outs, and its own four-line description in the classical Di Tian Sui (滴天髓). Your Day Master comes from your birth date, not your birth year, which is why two people born in the same zodiac year can have completely different ones.
